| Apostle Mark & Prophet Julie's Personal Prophecy & Dream Interpretation |
| Why do we Set a Price on Prophecies and Dream Interpretations? The Bible teaches that "the Lord has Ordained that they that preach the gospel, shall live of the gospel" (1 Cor. 9:14). There is absolutely nothing wrong for doing that. When a person "gives" an offering, they are not "buying a word" from God. They are honoring the servant of God. When Jesus sent his 12 apostles out to preach he said: Mat 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Mat 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Mat 10:9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, Mat 10:10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat (meat means MEAT-OFFERING). The "freely part" isn't actually meaning we "give for nothing", like it sounds. The word "freely" means "undeserved". We are "given" spiritual "gifts" we didn't deserve, so we are to "give" those gifts to people that don't "deserve" them. No one deserves anything from God. It was common Bible practice from back in the Old Testament, if someone went to a prophet, they brought an offering. That is why He says to "provide" not (provide at one's own expense) in Matt. 10:9. Mat 10:9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, Mat 10:10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat (meat means MEAT-OFFERING). Also Luke 10: Luk 10:3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Luk 10:4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. Luk 10:5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. Luk 10:6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. Luk 10:7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. Luk 10:8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: Luk 10:9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. Jesus refers to the ministry as "Hire" in Luke 10:7. The word Hire in the Greek means: 1) dues paid for work 1a) wages, hire 2) reward: used of the fruit naturally resulting from toils and endeavors. Dream interpretation & prophetic words can take hours if not days of seeking the Lord before receiving the answer. Example: What if we "toil" 3 days for an answer & the person only gives a $5 or $10 offering? See what I mean. This is a difficult thing to decide...from my experience very few will truly obey God & give to His servants their due (worthy of his hire). 1Ti 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. The word "Honor" actually means "a valuing by which the price is fixed". Double HONOR is twice that price. Over the more than 23 years as a "pastor", I have gone way beyond my "duty" to help people outside of my pastoral position. I didn't receive a set "salary" for being the pastor...only love offerings. I have fixed their cars, fixed things in their houses, I have fixed roofs, fixed computers, etc....with very, very few of them giving me anything in return. Its like people feel they are "entitled" or something. Its like they want everything for free & but give as little as they can. In the last 16 years which I have moved in the gifts of the Spirit, I have never asked for an offering. I have always just given from my heart. I have no regrets, but at the same time I must say that many times, my family went without, while other people were buying their children nice clothes, mine often went without. The people in Bible days, knew what was "proper", unlike nowadays, people want everything for "free". They don't realize that the servants of God have paid a price for walking in the anointing. The only caution for us here, is to NOT let it become a "money thing"...& end up like Balaam. Pastor Mark & Julie Revival Fire Church www.revivalfirechurch.net |
